About The Position

Prestige Fleet Services is seeking a Trailer Technician to maintain, inspect, and repair trailers as part of its mobile fleet maintenance operation. Technicians perform on-site truck and trailer maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections. The position uses company-issued electronic devices to manage repair orders and documentation, and involves obtaining parts from local vendors and managing inventory on service vehicles or trailers. The listed pay range is $28–$34 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

At least 3 years of tractor-trailer repair experience.
At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
Communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Self-motivation and excellent organization and planning skills.
Ability to use a computer or tablet for electronic work-order processing, including entering labor hours and updating work orders.
Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, when required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, or crawl, and stand for extended periods (1–2 hours).

Responsibilities

Maintain, inspect, and repair trailers.
Work on brake systems, diagnostics, electrical systems, tires, lift-gates, and other trailer components.
Repair damage and perform welding for major jobs.
Repair or replace trailer parts such as flooring, rails, landing gear, and lift gates.
Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
Open and close repair orders using a company-issued device.
Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on service vehicles or trailers.
Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
