About The Position

Western Express is hiring a Trailer Technician to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dry van and flatbed trailers, including structural components, systems, and related equipment. The role also performs preventive maintenance and warranty-related, accident-related, and general repairs. The technician inspects and repairs suspension systems, wheel-end assemblies, braking systems, and structural components in accordance with company standards and applicable Department of Transportation requirements, and tests equipment to identify issues and confirm proper operation.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of verifiable experience in the trailer repair industry.
• Possess the necessary hand tools to perform the repairs described; the company will provide primary air tools.
• Maintain a productivity rate of 85% or higher and an efficiency rate of 95% or higher.
• Follow company safety policies, repair procedures, and applicable industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and warranty-related, accident-related, and general repair work.
• Inspect and repair suspension systems, wheel-end assemblies, braking systems, and structural components according to company standards and applicable DOT requirements.
• Test and evaluate equipment to identify performance issues, determine necessary repairs, and ensure proper operation.
• Demonstrate initiative, punctuality, dependability, and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Maintain a productivity rate of 85% or higher and an efficiency rate of 95% or higher.
• Follow company safety policies, repair procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
