About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join their team. CCFS focuses on professional growth for its team members, offering guidance and training for advancement. The Trailer Technician role is safety-sensitive and involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. This includes tasks such as working on doors, floors, conducting DOT inspections, performing wheel end services, and electrical diagnosis.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.
At least 1 year or more of professional experience as a trailer technician.
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems.
Excellent interpersonal, organization, logistics, math, and communication skills.
Ability to recognize trailer maintenance problems.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Experienced and proficient working with diagnostic computers.
Knowledge of working on trailers.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work well with team members in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license.
This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a certificate program or technical training in mechanics and truck repair preferred.
Welding or fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair issues on tractor-trailers.
Perform preventative maintenance on trailers.
Test equipment and systems for performance.
Perform repairs to brakes, electrical systems, wheel end service, wall panels, etc.
Document repairs.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with employees and vendors.
Other duties as assigned.
