Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
At least three (3) years of experience as a trailer mechanic on class 8 trucks.
Knowledge in the safe operations of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment.
Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others.
Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment, with moderate noise and cold and hot temperature ranges.
Must be able to follow all required work safe practices.
Must have own tools.

Nice To Haves

Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training relative and transferable experience preferred.
A Commercial (A or B) Driver License preferred.
PA State Inspection license highly desired.
ASEs preferred.
A Diesel Engine Technical degree.
A commercial driver's license (CDL), A or B.
PA State Inspection License (highly desired).
ASEs.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Fabricate and repair body parts on trailers as well as disassemble and reassemble trailer parts as necessary to repair damaged areas.
Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition of new parts.
Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Vehicle Conditioning Reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
