This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on trailing equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturers', DOT, and company schedules. The Trailer Mechanic will access all areas of the equipment for maintenance, including working in, on, or under parts of trailers. Responsibilities include repairing or rebuilding equipment systems, adhering to various regulatory rules (DOT, EPA, OSHA, etc.), and maintaining proficiency with relevant equipment and technologies. The job also requires moving trailers on the property, operating a hostler in various weather conditions, accurately entering job times and parts on repair orders, operating specialized tooling and vehicles, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. Interaction with operations and shop management is also a key part of the role.
