About The Position
Cox Fleet Services is seeking individuals for their FleeTec Academy program, a paid educational initiative designed to train aspiring Trailer Technicians. This program offers free technical education in Trailer Repair, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a pathway to a full-time Mobile Trailer Mechanic position. The program includes four weeks of full-time paid classroom training at an Academy Campus, with travel, accommodation, and meal stipends provided. Upon completion, participants receive hands-on training with a Lead Technician and are offered a full-time job. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle. Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
- Willingness and ability to study hard.
- Dedication to being away from home for four weeks during the initial training.
- Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
- Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
- Ability to operate an iPad.
- Must be at least 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
- A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.

Responsibilities
- Participate in a four-week full-time paid classroom training program.
- Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician in the assigned market.
- Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailers at customer locations.
- Operate a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle equipped for repairs.
- Adhere to regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
- Maintain a Driver Qualification File.
- Attend further classroom study periodically for skill development.
