About The Position
GTS Transportation is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Mobile Trailer Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair trailers at our customer and company account locations. This is a field-based, independent contractor role for a hands-on technician who works well independently and takes pride in keeping equipment safe and road-ready.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of trailer repair experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift equipment and work in various weather conditions
Nice To Haves
- CDL license
- Prior experience issuing Annual FHWA/DOT Inspections
- Background working in a mobile or field-service mechanic role
Responsibilities
- Travel between customer and company account locations to service trailers on-site
- Perform trailer inspections and assess overall equipment condition
- Complete preventive maintenance (PM) services on-site
- Diagnose and perform minor trailer repairs in the field
- Perform and issue Annual FHWA/DOT Inspections
- Identify safety and maintenance issues and recommend additional repairs when necessary
- Complete inspection reports and service documentation accurately
