Responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of trailers. This includes inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing maintenance on equipment. The role also involves performing safety inspections of equipment and preparing safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State or Local regulations. The Trailer Mechanic will interpret work orders and technical manuals, repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, and test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations. Regular attendance is required.
