The Trail Crew Member will be primarily responsible for ski run grooming with various tasks including but not limited to; clearing ski runs of overgrowth, brush cutting/trimming, trail building as well as wildfire prevention and erosion control efforts. Under direct supervision from the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Managers, you will also assist other departments with other manual tasks including clean up and tear down, transport and on occasion are expected to assist with line control and other guest related duties.

Requirements

  • Must be in excellent physical conditions and hard-working
  • Team player who is able to work with minimal supervision
  • Customer service skills and adherence to uniform policies
  • Valid Drivers License required

Nice To Haves

  • OFA Level 3 an asset
  • Experience/certification in the use of a chainsaw and/or brush cutter is preferred
  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction or mechanical experience an asset

Responsibilities

  • General maintenance of ski runs – primarily brush cutting and chainsaw operation
  • Seeding/haying ski runs and other areas of the mountain
  • Performing minor maintenance on power tools while out in the field
  • Daily maintenance of power tools at beginning/end of shift
  • Clearing/maintaining mountain top trails and attraction areas
  • Landscaping mountain top and base areas and helping maintain these areas
  • Demonstrating safe work practices and adhering to mandatory PPE usage
  • Assisting other departments with manual tasks, including assisting trade workers with special tasks
  • Other duties as required
