About The Position

ATS Traffic Brandon is seeking Seasonal Traffic Technicians (Traffic Control Coordinators) to join their team. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. Traffic Technicians are responsible for setting up and managing traffic control in diverse environments, including cities, highways, construction sites, and major events like music festivals or sporting events. Key tasks include establishing lane closures, road closures, and detours to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow around these areas. The position may involve overseeing flaggers on large construction projects to ensure adherence to safety protocols and traffic control procedures, and technicians may also perform flagging duties as needed. Additionally, Traffic Technicians conduct field-level hazard assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring all work sites comply with traffic safety regulations. The role requires physically setting up and removing traffic control devices such as barricades, pylons, signage, and digital messaging boards. This position is crucial for the safe design and implementation of lane and road closures, ensuring smooth and secure traffic flow in dynamic settings.

Requirements

  • A valid Class 5F Driver’s License.
  • A Clean 3-Year Regular Drivers Abstract.
  • Own reliable means of transportation to get to and from the office each day for shifts.
  • Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test (zero tolerance policy for marijuana, medical or recreational).
  • Ability to successfully pass a Fit Test including lifting between 50 and 75 pounds.
  • Available to work overtime during days, evenings, weekend shifts as needed for the schedule.
  • Ability to travel for work out of town, overnight hotel stays required.
  • Bring a pair of CSA Approved Safety Boots on your first day.
  • Full-time availability is required during peak construction season.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and managing traffic control in a variety of environments, including cities, highways, construction sites, and major events.
  • Setting up lane closures, road closures, and detours to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
  • Overseeing flaggers on large construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and traffic control procedures (as needed).
  • Performing flagging duties on projects, as needed.
  • Conducting field-level hazard assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensuring all work sites comply with traffic safety regulations.

  • Ensuring smooth and secure traffic flow in various dynamic settings.
