About The Position

Weymouth Public Schools is seeking a dedicated School Traffic Supervisor to join our Transportation Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of school children at assigned crossings. The ideal candidate will be vigilant in controlling traffic, preventing children from entering the street while traffic is moving, and identifying potential hazards in the vicinity of the school crossing. This position involves direct interaction with parents, guardians, and children.

Responsibilities

• Control traffic at the assigned school crossing to protect the safety of school children.
• Ensure no children are in the street while traffic is moving.
• Be alert for potential or present traffic hazards, including defects in sidewalks, curbs, painted crosswalks, and roadways.
• Report traffic violations and issues with student, parent, or motorist conduct to the School Principal or School Resource Officer.
• Interact with parents, guardians, and children at their crossings.
