About The Position
The City is seeking a motivated and dependable Traffic Signal Technician to join its Traffic Division. This position supports the safety and efficiency of the roadway system by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing traffic signals, signs, related devices, and infrastructure. The role performs skilled and semiskilled work on traffic signal devices and related systems. The team values teamwork, accountability, and willingness to learn, and responds to signal outages as well as longer-term improvements.
Requirements
- High school graduation or GED certification.
- Two-year trade school education, including coursework in electrical theory and electronics.
- Two years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic control devices, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.
- Possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid Class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement.
Responsibilities
- Install traffic signal devices and related infrastructure.
- Maintain and troubleshoot traffic signal devices and related systems.
- Repair traffic signals, signs, and related infrastructure.
- Respond to signal outages and contribute to long-term roadway improvements.
