About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for full-time Traffic Signal & Lighting Electricians to join our team. This role involves working on roadway projects including Traffic Signals, Street Lighting, and Underground Utilities. The ideal candidate will enjoy troubleshooting, pulling wire, bending pipe, computing electrical formulas, and installing control circuits and other components. A key part of the role is the ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints. The position requires working with various tools, underground conduit, boxes and vaults, building cabinets and foundations, pulling wire, installing light poles and fixtures, mounting signal heads, installing traffic cameras, setting rebar foundations, and pouring concrete. The work may also involve MSHA surface mine locations, installing and maintaining three-phase power systems, motors, and motor controls, designing and troubleshooting motor control systems, and PLC control design, programming, and troubleshooting. Occasional long hours may be required to complete work. The role also emphasizes active contribution to a positive team environment, dependability, and self-starting initiative, with knowledge of the National Electric Code being important. Other duties or locations may be assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience with roadway projects including Traffic Signals, Street Lighting, and Underground Utilities.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician’s license.
  • Electrical Conduit Experience.
  • High School graduate or Equivalent.
  • Must have electrical knowledge.
  • Must have a background in Construction, or Carpentry.
  • General Labor/Construction Labor Experience Required.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities

  • Working on MSHA surface mine locations (mostly gravel pits).
  • Installing and maintaining three-phase power systems, motors, motor controls.
  • Designing, installing, maintaining motor control systems.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and servicing control and power systems.
  • PLC control design, programming and troubleshooting.
  • Occasional long hours to complete work.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Be a self starter.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
