About The Position
Incumbents in this class serve as lead workers for roadway signing projects. Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required and must be maintained. Since this position will be an on-call rotation, the selected candidate must live within 45 minutes of the Gravel Hill Sign Shop.
Requirements
- Six months experience in operating a variety of hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting or HVAC.
- Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
Responsibilities
- Oversees crews installing signs or pavement markings (tape or paint).
- Prepares sites for sign installation.
- Determines proper layouts for intersection markings.
- Operates hand and power tools such as air hammers, pipe installers and pullers, saws, etc.
- Operates motor vehicles, tape machines, hand rollers and air compressors.
- Submits daily reports to account for materials, man-hours and equipment used.
- Maintains inventories of supplies.
- Provides training for less experienced installers.
