The role of a Traffic Planner will create model traffic flows to develop and implement transportation plans and strategies to improve efficiency, reduce congestion, and enhance the sustainability of transportation systems. Analyze transportation data, including traffic patterns, demographic information, and environmental factors, to identify issues and propose solutions. Meet with customers to develop work area traffic control plans that meet customers work zone and project phasing requirements as well as ascertaining if permit services are required (Long term plans using temporary striping and K-rail or short term daily temporary traffic control plans) Design and draw temporary traffic control plans to current MUTCD/WATCH manual standards using Rapid Plan software. Ability to meet 24–48-hour completion of traffic control plan for customers. Monitor and respond to the [email protected] email. Save approved plans in company approved files for all departments to access. Submit plans to City/Controlling Agencies for review and approval as required. Follow company procedures on submitting traffic control plans to local agencies for approval. Ensure Traffic Control Plans KPI Tracker and Permit Tracker are updated daily Coordinate with Operations Manager or Dispatch for permit services as required per customer. Attend meetings with customer and City/Controlling agencies. Revise plans per City/Controlling agency’s direction. Facilitate contact between dispatch and contractor to co-ordinate implementation of project by AWP Safety. Submit billing for completed traffic plans. Manage multiple projects for timely completion meeting contractor’s schedule. Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.
