About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Lake Nona, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join their Transportation Design team. This is not a remote position. The role involves performing transportation engineering and design tasks, project management, and delivering a wide variety of transportation and traffic engineering projects, including traffic signals, lighting, safety, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for diverse clients. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a vision for personal practice growth, and the ability to contribute to the firm's established transportation engineering practice. Responsibilities include managing projects profitably, hands-on project delivery, mentoring staff, and contributing significantly to marketing and business development efforts, with the autonomy to pursue personal passions, leads, and clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a team of engineers and designers on various projects and build meaningful professional relationships internally and externally, working closely with industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant transportation engineering and design experience
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
  • Work in a team environment
  • Balance priorities among multiple projects
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization
  • Manage and mentor staff
  • Direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Provide high-quality deliverables with exceptional client service
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, developing scopes of work, and assembling budgets for projected work

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, AGi32, and/or ORD desired
