Under supervision, incumbents perform a variety of skilled traffic safety maintenance tasks, including the installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control signs and markings on City streets. This role involves fabricating, assembling, installing, maintaining, and removing traffic control signs and markings, as well as installing and maintaining proper signing for construction and maintenance zones. Traffic Maintenance Worker I is a flexibly-staffed position, with a requirement of one year of satisfactory service before promotion to the journey level (Traffic Maintenance Worker II). Incumbents are expected to progress to the Traffic Maintenance Worker II level ($4,603-$5,596/mo.) with appropriate training, experience, and satisfactory job performance.
