Requirements

B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from accredited university
Related experience may be used in lieu of degree
Knowledge and skill in Microsoft office and excel is a must.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic familiarity with MUTCD and DOT Design Guidelines and Standards and procurement manual
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

Transportation or traffic engineering experience within a district traffic office preferred
Knowledge of Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, ArcGIS, and OpenRoads Designer is desired

Responsibilities

Prepare various types of traffic studies such as traffic engineering studies, Intersection safety analysis, Interchange analysis, assist with corridor planning documents
Provides Intersection and corridor operational analysis
Assists with the development of intersection operational improvements
Prepares traffic signal and signing/pavement marking designs
Using Synchro software develop traffic analysis and help implement signal timing plans
Participates in project site visits with other project team members as needed
Assists with transportation planning studies as needed
Perform and review traffic counts, speed studies, access permits, and safety studies for the Georgia Department of Transportation
Prepare and review traffic studies to determine appropriate treatments and traffic control to resolve safety and congestion issues
Works with other disciplines such as survey, roadway design, and environmental to increase engineering knowledge and facilitate successful project delivery
Demonstrates strong attention to detail
Performs other duties as requested
