About The Position

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Traffic Engineers for our Irvine, CA office. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop and build their personal knowledge and skills to assist with the growth and success of the office. This position performs a full range of professional transportation engineering assignments in a staff engineer capacity. Independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have a significant impact on services or programs. Guidelines may be available; however, they may require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of design experience for CA role.
  • P.E, Registration required in the jurisdiction of the position or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Local State and Municipality experience.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in both MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Nice To Haves

  • Other certifications are a plus but not required, including California T.E. and/or PTOE certification.
  • Preferred candidates will have skills using traffic modeling software: Synchro, HCS, Vissim, and AGI32 (lighting).
  • Knowledge of roadway modeling software a plus: Civil 3D and OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

  • Perform traffic analysis, studies, preliminary engineering, transportation planning, and develop final design plans for traffic signals, ITS, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic handling, and construction sequencing.
  • Provide and/or take direction to/from staff.
  • Apply a broad understanding of civil engineering and other fields to reach innovative and interdependent solutions.
  • Design of MOT, signing & marking, signals, lighting, ITS, and all related documentation necessary for construction of plans.
  • Conduct traffic analysis, safety audits, traffic impact studies, traffic signal timing, traffic signal design, and calculations forming the basis of design recommendations.
  • Generate clear and concise technical reports summarizing analysis findings, description of the issues, and recommendations with supporting rationale.
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Prepares and checks plans, calculations, cost estimates, and recommendations.
