About The Position
We are seeking a qualified, independent California Licensed Traffic Engineer to perform a traffic study and develop a conceptual striping plan for a project located in Lancaster, California. This is a one-time, contract-based assignment. The final deliverables must be signed and stamped by a registered professional engineer in the State of California.
Requirements
- Active California Civil P.E. (Professional Engineer) or T.E. (Traffic Engineer) license is strictly required.
- Minimum 2+ years of traffic engineering and design experience specifically handling California local agency (ideally High Desert / Los Angeles County) projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Must be self-sufficient, highly responsive, and able to provide a final, QA/QC-checked product ready for agency submittal within the tight timeline.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with traffic modeling software (Synchro, HCS) is highly preferred to support the study findings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the necessary traffic analysis and generate a clear, concise technical report summarizing findings, issues, and data-backed recommendations.
- Develop preliminary pavement marking and signing plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Ensure all plans and calculations conform to the California MUTCD, City of Lancaster standards, and Caltrans guidelines where applicable.
