This position is responsible for engineering traffic studies using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. The role also acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Strong technical writing and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Written and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HCS and Synchro traffic software
• Experience with CAD software
• Experience with traffic control devices design (signing, markings, signals, lighting, and ITS)

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation and collect traffic data.
• Learn and become proficient in performing traffic analysis utilizing traffic software such as HCS and Synchro
• Conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
• Develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies
• Assist in the preparation of conceptual layouts depicting recommended improvements
• Prepare technical memorandums and reports associated with large and medium scale traffic studies
• Learn traffic control devices design that include signing, markings, signals, lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using CAD software
• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
