WSP is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join their team in the Kennesaw/Atlanta area. This role involves performing professional traffic engineering work, assisting with investigations and inspections of site conditions, roadways, intersections, signage, signals, pavement markings, and transportation corridors to ensure conformance with applicable rules and standards. The engineer will participate in incorporating advanced modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, and operating strategies to enhance safety and functionality for end-users and transportation systems, while also incorporating future-ready solutions. The position requires working individually or as part of a cross-functional team to execute project work, assist with roadway layout, establish reference points, calculate costs, and ensure project conformity with specifications and permits. The role also involves providing technical assistance on traffic engineering studies, capacity analyses, traffic complaint investigations, traffic plan reviews, signal system design, and operations analysis to ensure safe and efficient roadway design. The engineer will conduct traffic counts, assess safety features, recommend enhancements, and determine appropriate signage, signals, and pavement markings. Investigating accident data to improve road safety, preparing data visualizations, maintaining quality control, and assisting with project development are also key responsibilities. The role includes conducting engineering studies and surveys, analyzing data, and collaborating with other professionals and authorities on transportation improvement projects. The engineer will exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
