Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
  • Basic knowledge and skill with traffic engineering and CAD software, such as Synchro, Sidra, HCS, or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to research and learn innovative solutions and best practices in industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in a variety of traffic engineering work including traffic impact analyses, traffic forecasting studies, roundabout feasibility studies, parking studies, signal timing studies, access management studies, intersection safety analyses, operational studies, and corridor studies.
  • Analyzes crash data and develops safety improvement recommendations under supervision.
  • Designs traffic control plans, signal timing, signing, markings, quantity take-offs and estimates under supervision.
  • Applies fundamental engineering principles to produce high-quality traffic engineering deliverables that meet client expectations.
  • Provides engineering support on various projects and tasks as needed.
