About The Position

As a Traffic Engineering Professional Engineer, you will lead the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of traffic engineering elements for complex transportation infrastructure projects. You will serve as a technical resource and trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, applying advanced engineering principles and independent professional judgment to develop safe, efficient traffic solutions that improve mobility, optimize operations, and enhance roadway safety for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users. The role leads traffic studies, traffic control plans, signal and ITS designs, signing and pavement marking plans, work zone traffic management strategies, and safety evaluations in accordance with applicable standards. You will provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, oversee design from concept through final delivery, and ensure work products are high-quality, constructible, and compliant with regulations. You will collaborate with project managers, roadway designers, planners, public agencies, and clients; mentor junior engineers and technical staff; contribute to business development; and help advance the firm's traffic engineering capabilities while delivering projects on schedule and within budget. This hybrid position operates in both office and field environments. It routinely uses standard office equipment and may involve occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water depending on project requirements. Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, and hearing; occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling; and occasional company vehicle operation and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 pounds. Successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks is required.
