This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation of daily reports for the Traffic department, completing driver paperwork, running BOLs, and ensuring all paperwork is in compliance with Ace rules and regulations. The Traffic Coordinator will work closely with the Shipping Supervisor and Traffic Team to manage running bills, ensure routes meet weight and DOT regulations, and learn to build routes in Ace systems. The position also involves supporting Ace drivers, reviewing daily store delivery schedules and driver paperwork, assisting in scheduling backhaul opportunities, preparing routes for dispatch, and communicating retailer delivery expectations. Additionally, the role includes contacting and documenting daily dispatch assignments, performing general customer service for the traffic department, and other responsibilities assigned by leadership. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with high integrity, motivation, and a strong work ethic, possessing excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with the ability to communicate operational issues and make recommendations to management. The role involves working directly with customers and drivers to arrange freight shipments, schedule transportation, resolve service issues, and secure profitable loads, as well as monitoring service reports daily to ensure on-time delivery. Flexibility to work earlier or later hours based on department needs is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen ability for details and follow through to completion to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a quick-paced environment
  • Proactive self-starter who maintains a high level of integrity, is highly motivated, energetic and demonstrates a very strong work ethic
  • Flexible and willing to work earlier or later depending on circumstances, workloads and needs of department

Nice To Haves

  • Previous office experience preferred
  • Previous transportation experience would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing daily reports for Traffic department
  • Complete driver paperwork
  • Run BOL’s and all paperwork in compliance with Ace rules and regulations
  • Work closely with Shipping Supervisor and Traffic Team to manage running bills
  • Ensure routes are the correct weight and meet DOT regulations
  • Learn to build routes in Ace systems
  • Help support Ace drivers
  • Daily Store Delivery schedules/times
  • Daily driver paperwork review and filing
  • Assist in selecting, communicating, and scheduling backhaul opportunities for ACE Fleet daily
  • Assist in preparing routes for dispatch
  • Assist in communicating retailer delivery expectations when necessary
  • Contact and document daily dispatch assignments for ACE Fleet drivers
  • Perform general customer service responsibilities for traffic department by helping answer incoming phone calls and answering or directing inquiries to the appropriate person
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Traffic Department Leadership
  • Communicate operational issues to management and make recommendations when necessary
