About The Position
ViaSun Corporation is seeking a Traffic Control Yard Technician to join their team. This employee-owned leader in pavement preservation, heavy civil construction, and aviation services is committed to safety and operational excellence. The Traffic Control Yard Technician is responsible for ensuring traffic control crews are properly equipped and ready for safe and efficient deployment to job sites. This role supports daily yard operations, including inventory management, equipment readiness, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The position is critical to ensuring field teams operate efficiently and without delays.
Requirements

Nice To Haves
- Experience in construction, yard operations, or inventory management
- Familiarity with traffic control equipment and materials
- Basic mechanical or equipment maintenance experience
Responsibilities
- Load and unload traffic control trucks with cones, barricades, signage, message boards, and related equipment
- Verify all equipment is accounted for, functional, and ready for deployment
- Maintain accurate inventory counts using checklists or digital systems
- Track equipment usage and support timely reordering of supplies
- Clean, organize, and store traffic control equipment in designated yard areas
- Ensure materials are easily accessible for efficient loading and deployment
- Tag and document damaged or out-of-service equipment for repair or replacement
- Assist with light maintenance and repairs of equipment and tools
- Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety meetings and job hazard assessments
- Support traffic control crews with preparation, loading, and job-specific setup needs
- Assist with organizing and staging equipment for upcoming projects
- Contribute to efficient turnaround times for truck loading and unloading
