About The Position

Banks Construction Company is seeking dependable individuals interested in a career in heavy highway construction. As a Traffic Control Technician, you will support the Traffic Control Division by setting up and maintaining safe work zones for road, highway, and heavy civil construction projects. This role involves assisting with lane closures, flagging operations, traffic shifts, and other traffic control needs on active jobsites. This is a field position offering opportunities for learning and growth within the traffic control and construction industry.

Requirements

  • Must be dependable, safety-minded, and ready to work hard.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with crew members, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings while working near traffic.
  • Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions, including heat.
  • Comfortable working around active jobsites, traffic, and equipment.
  • Flexible and available to work both day and night shifts as needed.
  • Must show up on time and be ready to work each day.
  • Takes safety seriously.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • At least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous traffic control, flagging, construction, or labor experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in directing and regulating the movement of traffic around projects.
  • Set up and take down traffic control devices, signs, cones, and barrels.
  • Assist with lane closures and traffic shifts.
  • Flag and direct traffic safely around active work zones.
  • Monitor traffic flow and react to changing conditions.
  • Direct vehicles to alternate routes or lanes when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with crew members, drivers, and the public.
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Work as part of a team to keep crews and the traveling public safe.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the foreman or supervisor.
