About The Position

Frontline Traffic Services is a well-established traffic control company providing services throughout the Maritimes, and is the fastest growing and one of the largest traffic control companies in the HRM region. The company aims to provide an enjoyable workplace while delivering high-level service to customers. They are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join their team as Traffic Control Persons (TCPs). In this role, the individual will be responsible for managing traffic through construction sites in and around Halifax/Dartmouth and surrounding HRM areas. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is active, and thrives in a team environment. Transportation to and from work is provided for employees.

Requirements

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Must be able to interpret both written and verbal instructions
  • Great communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions, often working long days
  • Comfortable working near vehicle traffic and heavy equipment on construction sites
  • Required ability to lift up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Valid TCP Certification an asset
  • Valid Class 5 License an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist with placing signs, barricades, and traffic cones in work areas
  • Communicate with other TCPs in the workplace to regulate traffic safely
  • Responsible for the safe passage of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists through work areas
  • Communicate any incidents or hazards to the Site Supervisor
  • Ensure a safe work environment in accordance with all policies and procedures
  • Follow instructions given by Site Foreman, Site Supervisor, and Management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Competitive wages starting at $17.50/hour for those with no drivers license or not in a driver role
  • Wages starting at $20.00/hour for applicants who will also be responsible for operating our company vehicles
  • Drivers must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License, clean drivers abstract, and no "N" or "R" on your license
  • Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification training
