About The Position

The Universal Group is seeking hardworking and growth-oriented individuals for their Traffic Control team. As a Traffic Control Person (TCP), you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and flow of traffic in work zones. This includes setting up traffic control zones, adjusting work zone equipment, and responding to emergencies and hazards. You will also play a critical role in upholding quality, delivery, safety, and responsiveness requirements to ensure smooth and incident-free operations.

• Valid BC TCP Certification issued by a regulatory body.
• Effective communication and de-escalation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a TCP or LCT.

Responsibilities

• Set up traffic control zones and adjust work zone equipment.
• Give traffic control directions and signals clearly and precisely.
• Conduct traffic control at worksites to protect workers, the public, and employees.
• Attend health and safety toolbox/tailgate meetings.
• Participate in accident/incident investigations.
• Complete required documentation for due diligence and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with the ability to de-escalate public frustrations.
• Report health and safety matters, noncompliance issues, or conflicts to the dispatch manager or health and safety advisor.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
