Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks like reaching overhead, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Comfort with outdoor work in extreme weather.
  • Comfort with walking long distances.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and extended hours.
  • Ability to work near traffic in potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Teamwork abilities.
  • Problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safety of contractors and motorists in work zones.
  • Loading and unloading traffic control equipment, including drums, signs, barricades, pavement marking materials, and lights.
  • Setting up and removing lane closures, road closures, and other traffic control setups.
  • Installing and removing pavement markings and roadside safety devices like crash cushions.
  • Using maps and plan sheets to ensure proper equipment delivery and placement at job sites.
  • Performing maintenance on traffic control equipment.
  • Assisting with shop work, including organization, assembly, repair, and minor maintenance.
  • Working in varying environmental conditions.
