About The Position
AWP Safety is America's Leading Traffic Management Company and is looking for Protectors to join their team. As a Protector, you will work with a team at job sites, with no experience or degree needed. The company prioritizes safety and provides training and support to help employees build a career. The role involves working outside in all weather conditions, guiding traffic, and adhering to safety rules. Shifts may vary based on job needs, potentially including nights, weekends, or emergency work. Employees may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift and will be provided with safety gear, but must supply their own steel-toe safety boots.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods
- Able to lift 40–50 pounds
- Willing to work in traffic and changing weather
- Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift
- Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job)
- Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time
- Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect
Responsibilities
- Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down
- Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity
- Following all safety rules taught in training
- Communicating with your crew and supervisor
- Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
- Working outside all year, in all weather
- Standing or walking 8 to 12 hours per shift
