About The Position

S&L Industrial is looking for a Traffic Control Estimator to join their growing team. This is an in-person position based out of their Billings, MT or Cowley, WY office, with regular collaboration with their Corporate Office in Omaha, Nebraska. The Traffic Control Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for traffic control projects while supporting business development and operational success. Working closely with Operations, Project Management, and the Corporate Estimating Team, this role plays an important part in helping secure projects throughout the region. S&L Industrial provides traffic control and pavement marking services throughout Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, and Idaho. Requirements

  • 2+ years of traffic control estimating experience.
  • Experience estimating traffic control, pavement marking, roadway safety, or highway construction projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with estimating software such as Bid2Win is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals.
  • Coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate project scope.
  • Partner with Operations on scheduling, staffing, and project execution.
  • Track bid results and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and industry partners.
