About The Position

UNC Charlotte is seeking a team of sharp, high-energy individuals to serve as Event & Traffic Control Attendants on campus. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being at the center of campus events. Attendants will be responsible for guiding vehicles and pedestrians safely, welcoming campus visitors, and working with campus security to manage crowds and ensure a safe environment. This is a seasonal/event-based position with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to pass a standard background check.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Great communicator, comfortable speaking to the public and using clear hand signals or flashlights to guide drivers.
• Able to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including wind, rain, cold, snow, heat, etc.

Responsibilities

• Confidently guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through campus intersections, parking lots, and event zones.
• Welcome students, parents, and fans with a smile and help direct them to the right parking structures or event gates.
• Work closely with campus security and site supervisors to manage crowds and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
• Stand in assigned location and direct traffic.
• Repetitively hold signs and/or flags.
• Use and raise arms to chest height in order to direct traffic.
• Move and place any signage in appropriate location.
• Adhere to all regulatory, company and departmental policies and procedures.
