About The Position
Helix Traffic Solutions is hiring a Traffic Control Apprentice for its Pell City office. The role supports traffic control and work zone safety, helping protect the public and keep communities moving. The work is hands-on and fast-paced. Employees must follow supervisors’ directions and company policies, use safe work practices around live traffic, and perform other duties assigned by management or trainers. Out-of-town travel may be required infrequently, with 48 hours’ notice.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 80 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, approximately 8 hours or more.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, approximately 8 hours or more.
- Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as requested.
- Ability to travel out of town infrequently when given 48 hours’ notice.
- Fine motor skills and hand dexterity, including for tightening nuts and bolts, using hand tools, and filling out paperwork.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random drug screenings.
- Ability to follow specific directions from a supervisor.
- Good judgment in the field and commitment to safe work practices around live traffic.
- Ability to operate required motorized hand tools and equipment.
- Ability to use rulers and calculate measurements accurately.
- Cooperative, team-player attitude.
- Interest in improving industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
