About The Position

Superior Traffic Control is hiring a Traffic Control Apprentice for its Pell City office. The role involves working safely around live traffic, following directions from supervisors and trainers, using motorized hand tools and equipment, and performing physical tasks. Employees may be asked to work nights or weekends and to travel out of town infrequently, with 48 hours’ notice. Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of approximately eight hours and sit for extended periods of approximately eight hours.
• Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to travel out of town infrequently when given 48 hours’ notice.
• Fine motor skills and hand dexterity, including for tightening nuts and bolts, using hand tools, and filling out paperwork.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random drug screenings.
• Ability to follow specific directions from a supervisor.
• Good judgment in the field, including safe work practices around live traffic, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate required motorized hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to accurately use rulers and calculate measurements.
• Cooperative, team-player attitude.
• Interest in improving industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Follow specific directions from supervisors and trainers.
• Use good judgment and safe work practices around live traffic, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Operate the motorized hand tools and equipment required for the job.
• Use rulers and calculate measurements accurately.
• Perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, sitting, and using hand dexterity for tasks such as tightening nuts and bolts and filling out paperwork.
• Work nights and/or weekends when requested.
• Travel out of town as needed; travel is described as infrequent and provided with 48 hours’ notice.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or trainers.
