About The Position

The Traffic Clerk is responsible for coordinating with warehouse and transportation to ensure the accurate and timely completion of shipping/receiving documents. This role ensures orders are on schedule to meet daily pick-up schedules efficiently and safely. The Traffic Clerk verifies product counts for data accuracy, maintains the warehouse management system (WMS) scheduler, and ensures the accuracy of all shipping and receiving (B.O.L.) documents. They will print labels for carrier shipments, handle customer interactions at the dispatch window, and gather/maintain data and records related to shipping and receiving activities. Additionally, this role involves training new associates, resolving escalated issues, delegating tasks at the dispatch window, adding trailer moves for yard drivers, keeping the schedule updated, using SAP to create TO’s, checking in OTR drivers, and completing all paperwork correctly and legibly. Reliable attendance and adherence to safety standards are crucial. This position also performs other assigned duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Handles all customers and customer representatives at the dispatch window.
  • Gathers and maintains all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Trains new associates.
  • Ensures that escalated issues are resolved timely and accurately.
  • Delegates work out the dispatch window to associates (full picks, piece picks, loads, and inbounds).
  • Adds trailer moves for yard driver.
  • Keeps the schedule up to date.
  • Uses SAP to create TO’s for full picks and inbounds.
  • Checks in OTR driver with inbounds, outbounds, and empty trailers.
  • Completes all paperwork correctly and legibly.
  • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
