About The Position

iHeartMedia is seeking a Traffic and Weather Reporter for its Total Traffic + Weather Network in Atlanta. The role gathers regional traffic information, produces accurate and timely traffic updates, and delivers reports, commercials, and public service messages to listeners. The position may also involve creating written, visual, audio, and video content for websites, blogs, and social media. This is a part-time hourly position requiring split shifts of four hours during AM Drive and four hours during PM Drive, as well as weekend availability.

Requirements

• Must reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
• Knowledge of local-area geography, roadways, mass transit, and traffic patterns.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Pleasant, charismatic, well-controlled voice and excellent pronunciation.
• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, collaborative, newsroom-like environment.
• Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work split shifts: four hours in AM Drive and four hours in PM Drive.
• Willingness to work weekends.
• Previous on-air broadcast experience.
• Respect for others and belief in reciprocal respect.
• Ability to work within prescribed guidelines without close supervision.
• Problem-solving skills within established procedures and understanding when to seek guidance for unforeseen problems.
• Close attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to act professionally and collaborate with colleagues at different levels.

Responsibilities

• Gather regional traffic information and enter details into internal computer and web systems.
• Read traffic reports, commercials, and public service messages to listeners.
• Identify, research, and create traffic copy for on-air shifts, then finalize content using digital audio editing software.
• Keep information accurate and current, track changes, and ensure all facts are correct.
• Meet deadlines to provide timely traffic updates.
• May prepare written content, visual images, audio material, and video footage for websites, blogs, or social-media platforms.
