Trading Application Support Engineer, Senior Associate
About The Position
State Street Markets is the investment research and trading arm of State Street, providing specialized research, trading, securities lending and innovative portfolio strategies to owners and managers of institutional assets. DMC Production Support is seeking a technical Production Application Support candidate to support FX business applications. The person in this position will be responsible for the active monitoring of trading, settlement and reporting applications as well as support of maintenance and application release activities. The person is this role will work directly with both the business and application development teams in addressing and resolving application issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
- Experience supporting large scale, 24/7, real time mission critical systems
- Experience in financial business processes
- 1-2 years Linux, SQL, WebSphere, Windows Cloud technologies, Incident management
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages
- Strong knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL
- Working knowledge of Middleware (WebSphere, MQ Series, Autosys, etc.), and J2EE a plus
- Experience supporting trading, financial, or other mission-critical enterprise applications is preferred

Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical trading floor application support to our DMC business partners
- Troubleshoot/analyze and triage application and trading issues
- Monitor application environment for issues
- Assist in application maintenance and deployment activities
- Provide Disaster Recovery Testing support
- Participate in a rotational support schedule for critical production systems.
