Trades Technician III
About The Position
This position supervises staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. The incumbent oversees the daily operations of the section, including processing equipment requests, assisting with the budget process, and coordinating repairs; performs highly complex installations and repairs within the functional area; and assists with coordinating and overseeing the work of outside contractors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Four years of trades experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Valid Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Serving as a lead to staff by assigning and monitoring work and providing direction
- Performing highly complex installations and repairs within the functional area
- Inspecting equipment and determining repair and maintenance needs
- Performing preventative maintenance within the functional area
- Maintaining inventory levels of supplies, equipment, and related materials
- Performing other duties of a similar nature or level
- Communicate effectively and engage with staff, citizens, leadership, and elected officials as needed.
