About The Position

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M), weapons testing, facilities management, aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M, technical, logistics and other engineering support, systems integration, electronics and communications maintenance services, and cybersecurity. With a 34-year heritage, SA-TECH supports complex and diverse DoD programs, known for high-quality services and customer satisfaction. SA-TECH currently supports the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWCAD) Naval Air Systems Command and the NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field Divisions by providing rapid organic engineering, prototyping, reverse-engineering, environmental testing, antenna repairs and life-cycle extensions, and production capabilities. The company is seeking a Trades Helper at its St. Inigoes, MD complex to support engineering, testing, prototyping, repair, and production facilities, specifically in the Composite Shop.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of common hand and power tools.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of general shop experience, with knowledge of basic power tools.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills.
  • Current Maryland Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must already have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

  • Formal trade school, college, or military training school highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill.
  • Keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools.
  • Cleaning working area, machine, and equipment.
  • Assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools.
  • Performing other unskilled tasks as directed by journeyman.
  • Performing specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis (where permitted).
