About The Position

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M), weapons testing, facilities management, aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M, technical, logistics and other engineering support, systems integration, electronics and communications maintenance services, and cybersecurity. SA-TECH currently supports the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWCAD) Naval Air Systems Command and the NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field Divisions by providing rapid organic engineering, prototyping, reverse-engineering, environmental testing, antenna repairs and life-cycle extensions, and production capabilities. The company is seeking a Trades Helper at its St. Inigoes, MD complex to support engineering, testing, prototyping, repair, and production facilities, specifically in the Composite Shop.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Knowledge of common hand and power tools.
Minimum of two (2) years of general shop experience, with knowledge of basic power tools.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Solid organizational and communication skills.
Current Maryland Driver’s License required.
Must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must already have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

Formal trade school, college, or military training school highly desired.

Responsibilities

Assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill.
Keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools.
Cleaning working area, machine, and equipment.
Assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools.
Performing other unskilled tasks as directed by journeyman.
Performing specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis (where permitted).
