The Trades Generalist-Signage plays a vital role in the Judicial Branch, crafting high-quality signage with precision and creativity. Responsible for designing and fabricating signage throughout the courts, this position offers specialized and skilled trades services, contributing to the professional ambiance of Judicial Branch buildings. Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Two years of experience performing semi-skilled tasks OR Combined education and experience qualifications: An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

Coursework in graphic design
Experience using Gerber sign-making software, printer and blotter, and experience installing internal and external signage.
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

Operates specialized equipment and software to design, lay out, and fabricate a variety of signs including Gerber software, scanners, digitalizing tablets, printers, plotters, and engravers.
Uses hand and power tools such as punches, knives, grinders, routers, drills to assemble signs to sandwich boards, name plates, vinyls, etc.
Collaborates with content creators and stakeholders in the design, production, and fabrication of a variety of signage products.
Performs quality assurance pre and postproduction by accurately reading and interpreting a work order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards.
Understands and applies signage and design fundamentals while following Judicial Branch style guidelines and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) signage guidelines and regulations.
Estimates time, labor, equipment and materials needed for jobs.
Orders, purchases, picks-up and delivers materials, supplies and equipment.
Monitors advances in the field of signage and recommends hardware, software, and materials purchases as appropriate.
Process ServiceNow & Maximo JB work order requests (5-10 hours per week).
