About The Position

Under general supervision, forecasts and meets hourly district real-time electric power requirements; monitors power load conditions, conducts hourly analysis, develops trading strategies and determines the most economical power source alternatives; plans and schedules resources to meet demand load forecast; negotiates sale, purchases and interchanges of electricity and gas with other utilities, energy marketers, energy brokers and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, business, accounting, economics, or related degree
• Three years of experience in either trading, trading analysis, power and natural gas settlements, finance, transmission planning, engineering, power dispatching or other technical field
• Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required
• Power trading, trading analysis, power and natural gas settlements, finance, transmission planning, engineering or power dispatching experience
• A negative drug test is required as a condition of employment
