About The Position

This is an opportunity to join the fixed-income trading team in Seattle, with a specific focus on global Fixed Income Markets. The role supports the trading team as needed and involves executing global Fixed Income orders for Russell Funds, Trading Clients, Transition Management Clients, and Investment Managers. The associate will be responsible for executing trading strategies that conform to Russell Investment's best execution guidelines, with oversight and guidance from senior members of the global fixed income trading team, as well as other regional teams and asset classes. This person will analyze trading against best execution through demonstrable pre-trade and post-trade analysis, our trading capabilities in terms of markets and execution venues, and our overall product offering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related area.
  • 2-5 years of fixed-income experience in the industry, with some interest in international fixed-income securities.
  • Currently hold or, expected to study and receive SIE and Series 7, 55, and 63 licenses.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detailed-oriented & excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Driven self-starter looking to take on new responsibilities in a challenging environment.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees or interest in studying to become a CFA charter holder are considered a plus.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and SQL is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Global Fixed Income Trading Marketplace and clearing infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience with fixed-income electronic trading platforms: Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Bloomberg, and Yieldbroker is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Fixed Income trading team to execute a broad array of trading strategies in US Asia pac and european markets, from global trading mandates to more focused mandates across Asia markets.
  • Interact with senior members of the team using risk models, optimization systems, and other trading analytic systems.
  • Research trading costs associated with various strategies and implement the most cost-effective strategy.
  • Liaise with numerous clients, investment managers/portfolio managers and execute the program and/or single order transactions.
  • Continue to learn and implement the established best practices to ensure trading strategies conform to Russell’s best execution guidelines.
  • Interface with various systems and operate multiple market-facing execution technologies.
