About The Position
The Trade Specific Instructor will provide practical technical instruction designed to connect academic learning with the skills and applications used within NNSY shipyard trades. Work will be performed according to scheduled trade-specific courses and laboratory requirements. Training may require in-person instruction at Norfolk Naval Shipyard facilities using designated classrooms, mockups, tools, and training equipment.
Requirements
- Must possess appropriate education, training, or experience in the assigned technical trade.
- Must meet applicable Educational Institution instructor qualification standards.
- Must be capable of providing practical and hands-on technical instruction.
- Must satisfy applicable NNSY installation access and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver trade-specific technical instruction.
- Conduct hands-on laboratory and practical training when required.
- Evaluate student knowledge, technical skills, and academic performance.
- Maintain safe instructional practices during hands-on training.
