Trade Show Inventory & Systems Manager

Jack Morton WorldwideOakville, ON

About The Position

Love bringing trade shows, exhibits, and experiential brand activations to life behind the scenes? Join our team and help shape the inventory systems, processes, and asset management practices that support some of the world’s most recognizable live experiences. We’re looking for a tech-savvy, adaptable Trade Show Inventory & Systems Manager with hands-on experience in trade show inventory, client properties, exhibits, and event operations to help implement, refine, and optimize a company-wide inventory system. This is a unique opportunity for someone who understands both inventory operations and technology. The inventory system is already substantially developed, and this role will help take it to the next level—working with Operations, warehouse teams, IT, and developers to identify gaps, translate business needs into system improvements, implement changes, and drive adoption across the organization. This is not a software development or programming role. We’re looking for someone who understands how inventory works in the real world and can work effectively with technical teams to make the system work better for the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory, warehouse operations, asset management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on trade show, exhibit, experiential marketing, live event, or similar industry experience is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trade show inventory, client properties, event assets, equipment, and show-specific inventory requirements.
  • Experience working with an inventory management system in a real-world operational environment.
  • Experience helping implement, improve, refine, or optimize an existing inventory system.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to work comfortably with IT and software developers.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into clear system requirements and actionable solutions.
  • Experience gathering feedback from users and turning that feedback into process or system improvements.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience organizing, preparing, importing, or reconciling inventory data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across warehouse, operations, technology, and leadership teams.
  • Highly adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where systems and processes are continually evolving.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the United States and Canada as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Help implement, refine, and optimize the company-wide inventory system based on operational needs and user feedback.
  • Serve as a key business and operational partner for the inventory platform, helping identify requirements, priorities, workflows, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate how the system is being used across locations and teams and identify what is working, what isn't, and what needs to change.
  • Translate operational and inventory requirements into clear, actionable requirements for IT and software developers.
  • Work closely with developers and technical partners to refine the system, troubleshoot issues, and implement practical solutions.
  • Help identify and close gaps in inventory data, including importing and integrating information from individual locations and legacy processes.
  • Support data preparation, cleansing, organization, and migration using tools such as Excel and the inventory platform.
  • Help determine the appropriate next steps when inventory data, assets, or information need to be incorporated into the system.
  • Continuously improve system functionality and usability based on feedback from warehouse and operations teams.
  • Help make the system intuitive and practical for the people using it every day.
  • Support testing, implementation, rollout, training, stabilization, and ongoing optimization.
  • Apply hands-on knowledge of trade show, exhibit, and experiential event operations to the development and implementation of inventory processes and systems.
  • Understand the unique inventory requirements associated with client shows, exhibits, events, and brand activations.
  • Establish and improve processes for managing company-owned inventory, client properties, trade show assets, equipment, reusable components, and materials.
  • Help ensure inventory is accurately tracked, available, properly located, and represented within the system.
  • Identify operational gaps between physical inventory and system records and drive solutions to close those gaps.
  • Support physical inventory, cycle counts, audits, reconciliation, transfers, returns, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Help develop scalable inventory practices that can be consistently applied across multiple locations.
  • Work closely with Warehouse teams, Project Managers, Directors of Operations, IT, developers, Production, Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Spend time with the people actually using the system to understand their needs and translate their feedback into improvements.
  • Partner with warehouse and operations teams to understand how inventory moves and where processes or technology can be improved.
  • Work collaboratively with developers and technical teams while serving as the bridge between business/operational needs and system functionality.
  • Train and support users as new processes and system enhancements are implemented.
  • Build adoption and accountability through clear communication, training, and hands-on support.
  • Take an existing system and adapt it to the business rather than starting from scratch.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, navigation, reporting, data quality, and overall user experience.
  • Recommend practical system and process enhancements that improve inventory visibility, accuracy, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that help guide the continued development of the inventory platform.
  • Help drive the system from its current state toward full company-wide implementation.
