About The Position

The Commercial Loan Operations Associate is responsible for supporting the daily processing and servicing of commercial loans, including data entry, funding, maintenance, payments, and documentation review. This role ensures that commercial loan transactions are executed with accuracy, efficiency, and in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The associate collaborates with team members and cross-functional departments to support the full lifecycle of commercial loans and provides operational support to ensure service level commitments are met.

Requirements

  • High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.
  • 1+ Years experience in a large commercial bank or related financial institution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-first mindset.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights.
  • Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.

Nice To Haves

  • College, Vocational or Associates Degree (2 years or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Basic understanding of Commercial Loan Servicing.
  • Knowledge of CRE, C&I, construction, or SBA loan products and familiarity with core loan servicing systems (e.g. ACBS, AFSVision, nCino, etc.).
  • Ability to review and interpret loan documents and translate terms into accurate system entries.

Responsibilities

  • Input, verify, and maintain commercial loan data in core loan systems based on executed loan documents.
  • Process loan funding requests, rate changes, advances, payments, and payoffs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review and validate loan documentation to ensure completeness and alignment with system setup.
  • Monitor work queues, daily reports, and exceptions to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Assist with collateral tracking, covenant compliance monitoring, and loan ticklers.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal partners (credit, legal, servicing, etc.) related to loan setup and servicing.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation in accordance with bank policy and regulatory standards.
  • Escalate discrepancies or issues to the manager for resolution as appropriate.
  • Support internal audits, quality control reviews, and data clean-up efforts as needed.
  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems.
  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.
  • Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
