The Trade Compliance Manager will be responsible for export and import compliance activities at all locations where Marvell conducts business. This role will provide trade compliance support to U.S. and international operations and help ensure business transactions are processed in compliance with applicable trade control requirements. The position will support Marvell’s Global Export and Import Compliance Program and work closely with engineering, operations, shipping and logistics, and G&A functions across Marvell’s global locations. The Trade Compliance Manager will partner with stakeholders across the business to help Marvell navigate complex trade regulatory requirements in a compliant and pragmatic way. The Trade Compliance Manager will help ensure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations, OFAC sanctions, ITAR, U.S. customs requirements, and other applicable trade control regimes in relevant jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in trade compliance covering both export and import compliance matters.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to interpret U.S. and other applicable trade regulations and apply those requirements to business operations, R&D activities, and technical data.
  • Experience documenting and implementing export and import compliance programs and policies, integrating compliance requirements into business processes, and using global trade automation solutions for screening, licensing, classification, and reporting.
  • Experience with technology control plan management and practical application in business systems and processes.
  • Experience in drafting export license applications.
  • Experience with export and HS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determinations, permits and licensing, and supply chain security programs.
  • Strong business communication skills, including ability to provide clear guidance and serve as a partner to internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong independent judgment, critical thinking, excellent communication skills, English fluency, a team-oriented and client-focused approach, and ongoing professional development.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when necessary.
  • Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information as defined under applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and managing key aspects of Marvell’s Global Export and Import Compliance Program.
  • Ensuring that internal controls and protocols documented in the Technology Control Plan and associated Data Control Plan are operating as designed.
  • Ensuring that valuation and country of origin protocols are followed across the company.
  • Overseeing compliance requirements involving deemed exports, prohibited end uses and end users, restricted party screening, sanctioned destinations, and transaction screening protocols.
  • Supporting classifying products, software, and technology under applicable U.S. and international export and customs regulations and ensuring the accuracy of export and import classifications.
  • Establishing and maintaining compliance protocols, training, audit and self-assessment programs, and related documentation, including SOPs and user guides.
  • Implementing improvements and corrective actions when needed.
  • Providing trade regulatory guidance to business teams.
  • Supporting compliance in shipping and logistics operations.
  • Fulfilling applicable reporting requirements.
  • Monitoring departmental metrics.
  • Overseeing outsourced trade compliance activities, as necessary.
