Our Trade Compliance team ensures Kubota remains compliant with all U.S. import and export regulations, enabling efficient and lawful movement of goods across global supply chains. Overview As the Trade Compliance Analyst II, you are a highly experienced and knowledgeable professional who understands complex import and export regulations governed by U.S. Customs and other federal agencies. You will support and lead compliance activities, manage key processes, conduct due diligence, and ensure Kubota maintains full adherence to evolving trade laws and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Finance, or International Trade preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of trade compliance experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing inquiries, performing research, providing guidance, and partnering with personnel at all levels to address international compliance issues.
  • Ability to interpret import/export laws, rulings, and regulations and translate them into practical business processes.
  • Experience preparing and filing required forms and submissions to U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of: Import entry processes, Export declarations and processes, Sanctioned party screening, HTS and ECCN classification, Free Trade Agreement qualification, ACE portal, Customs broker selection and compliance oversight, Creating and presenting training, Working with external service providers to ensure proper records, reports, and system access
  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite, Gmail, and internet applications; familiarity with ERP systems (SAP), global trade systems, and ACE preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, detail orientation, and ability to support and lead multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a self‑starter who can support and lead multiple projects while working collaboratively across the logistics organization.
  • Manage and conduct due diligence on Customs Brokers and freight forwarders.
  • Serve as the primary support for import and export compliance processes.
  • Apply proficiency with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and General Rules of Interpretation.
  • Maintain and update the import and export compliance manual.
  • Ensure company compliance with new and evolving trade laws; complete ongoing training to stay current on regulatory trends.
  • Assist in managing various trade compliance projects.
  • Contribute to the creation of training materials, tools, resources, and intranet content related to trade compliance.
  • Access and review import/export data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct audits of business trade compliance programs and processes supporting import/export transactions.
  • Collaborate with and manage outside counsel and consultants.
  • Communicate with affiliates and internal departments—including operations, purchasing, engineering, receiving, and accounting—regarding import transactions.
  • Perform compliance activities including classification of merchandise for HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN; conduct product research to support accurate classifications.
  • Request and provide import documentation required for U.S. entry (e.g., mill certificates, non‑reimbursement statements, EPA forms).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
