About The Position

The focus of this position is to gather data to provide analytical insight and process improvements relating to deductions management. Focus is on accurate and timely resolution of all deductions and repayments taken within 90 days, claims weighted average of 35 days while maintaining balance targets. The position is responsible for proactively analyzing and reviewing the current deductions process and policies, identifying opportunities, problem areas and potential solutions by leaning on automation. This role will need to work cross functionally with CD, finance, audit, and collect team to identify/implement efficiencies. They will be the key lead and touch point between our third parties and Unilever to escalate deductions issues, conduct root cause analysis and provide holistic conclusions to implement solutions. This role will play a key part in bringing our automation and AI roadmap to life by evaluating new technologies and supporting the development of new solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or related area preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience; demonstrating knowledge of data, systems, process improvement and ability to analyze information to make recommendations
  • Possess MS office skills.
  • SAP/ HRC/ TPM experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, data savvy and very comfortable dealing with numerical information
  • Solutions oriented and an ability to solve problems
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Influencing skills – able to work across functions within the organization

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve all types of deductions in a timely and efficient manner with a clear understanding of impact to sales, the balance sheet and the P&L.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient recording and reporting of all open and resolved deductions.
  • Provide decision support and financial insight to all 3rd parties in a timely manner.
  • Work strategically cross functionally on process changes designed to minimize deduction issues
  • Complete trend analysis for root cause to identify cash flow opportunities and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist Customer Development, Customer Support, Collection teams in validating, determining non-compliance and root cause issues.
  • Participate on Customer Care Teams (CCT’s) to provide financial insight on process gaps, opportunities and specifically how deductions impact cash flow.
  • Timely and accurate resolution of all cash on account and deductions.
  • Work closely with system teams to lead automation initiatives and monitor their success.
  • Handle large volume of claims effectively and in a timely manner. Key deliverable is to resolve all claims/ cash within 90 days.
  • Strategically influence Customer Development to resolve promotional related deductions in a timely manner
  • Gain support of other departments within Unilever to understand root cause and prevent the issues from reoccurring.
  • Provide insights for process improvements and training delivery.
  • Work with third parties to resolve collectible and promotional deductions.
  • Manage through the differing priorities across departments impacted by or impacting deduction activity.
  • Provide in depth analytical support focused on solutions in presentation ready formats.
  • Identify and understand trends and provide recommended solutions supporting a longer-term vision.
  • Thorough analysis on current ‘state of affairs’ that lead to insights on efficiency and effectiveness of deductions management.
  • Utilize insights to forge options and recommendations going forward, manage various stakeholders cross functionally as well as the CDLT to buy solutions, standardization, and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the finance, audit, systems/ IT, CD and our third-party teams to deep dive on deductions management and understand root cause of issues and opportunities.
