About The Position

Niagara Parks is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Plumber to join our Facilities and Maintenance team. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on plumbing experience while working toward apprenticeship completion. Under the guidance of experienced trades professionals, the successful candidate will assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of plumbing systems and equipment across a diverse portfolio of facilities and attractions. This role is ideal for an individual who is committed to building a career in the plumbing trade, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in maintaining safe and efficient operations for employees and visitors alike.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma.
  • Working knowledge of tools, equipment, methods and practices of Plumbing.
  • Valid Class "G" Drivers Licence.
  • Knowledge of any applicable legislation/regulations including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a commitment to complete the apprenticeship requirements of working hours via on-the-job training and the school instruction component.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrollment in a post-secondary Plumber apprenticeship program considered to be an asset.
  • Completion of Year 1 of a Plumbing Apprenticeship program considered an asset.
  • Gas License G2 or G3 considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Niagara Parks properties considered an asset.
  • Plumbing skills and experience with plumbing methods considered to be an asset.
